History

Project iT was founded in 1998 as a collaborative venture within the realm of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). It emerged as a result of a partnership between BiSC and its managing partners, Marcel Vermeulen and Drs. Thijs van der Laan.

BiSC, established in the early months of 1986, stands as one of the foundational pillars of Project iT. Thijs van der Laan, an entrepreneur with a background in economics and administrative informatics, laid the groundwork for BiSC and eventually became one of the managing partners of Project iT. With expertise in ICT architecture, Thijs played a pivotal role in shaping the technical vision of the company.

Marcel Vermeulen, on the other hand, brought a wealth of project management experience to the table. Having studied business administration in Eindhoven, Marcel had a distinguished career with renowned companies such as Mercedes Benz, PHILIPS, and IBM before co-founding Project iT. His adeptness at motivating project teams and aligning them towards common objectives became instrumental in the success of Project iT.

From its inception, Project iT focused on providing a myriad of services aimed at facilitating the realization of complex ICT infrastructures. These services encompassed project management, integrated system architecture, software development, system integration, testing, and deployment. Additionally, Project iT extended its offerings to include consultancy in areas like ICT management processes, European tendering, big data analysis, and expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Over the years, Project iT garnered a reputation for its involvement in large-scale projects within the financial sector and governmental institutions. The company thrived in scenarios where intricate PC workstations and networks required deployment and integration on a massive scale.

Project iT’s approach revolved around bridging the gap between project requirements and solutions, thereby ensuring seamless implementation and operation of ICT infrastructures. This was achieved through a transparent, process-oriented, and results-driven methodology, facilitated by a team of seasoned specialists in project management, infrastructure architecture, and software development.

The company’s commitment to excellence was underscored by its adherence to structured methodologies such as Prince2 for project management and proprietary frameworks like BiSC GAMMA for architecture development and BiSC VBP for process management. These methodologies provided a systematic framework for delivering high-quality solutions tailored to the specific needs of clients.

With a track record of successful engagements with prominent entities like Amro Bank, Shell, ING, IBM, and various governmental bodies, Project iT continued to evolve and adapt to the ever-changing landscape of ICT. Whether as a principal contractor, subcontractor, or capacity provider, Project iT remained steadfast in its mission to steer and revitalize infrastructural ICT projects to fruition.

As the torchbearer of its predecessors’ legacy, Project iT stands poised to usher in a new era of innovation and service excellence in the realm of Intelligent Information Technology.
